Lead Pastor search

Crossroads Community Church exists to glorify God by reaching out to the communities around us, to make mature followers of Christ Jesus who have passion for God and a heart for people.  Crossroads is looking for a new Lead Pastor who will respond to the call of God and help to lead our Church body.

About Crossroads Community Church

Crossroads Community Church (CCC) is located in the NE Calgary community of Mayland Heights and is affiliated with the Associated Gospel Churches of Canada (AGC). The community is close to Calgary’s downtown core (click here for City of Calgary information on the community). Officially established on January 1, 1980, the church was the result of a merger of an AGC church planting core and the existing Mayland Heights Baptist Church.

Crossroads is a small community-focused church body with an active membership of 59 with average Sunday service attendance of 70 people, in person and online. Although the congregation has members in all age groups, it mostly consists of families with preschool/school aged children, adults and seniors. Members come from the Mayland Heights & Vista Heights neighbourhoods and other NE Calgary communities. Currently, our staff includes a full-time Lead Pastor, a part-time Children’s Discipleship Director, a part-time Administrator/bookkeeper and a contracted caretaker. Our mission is to develop mature followers of Jesus with a passion for God and a heart for people.

Over the past 42 years, CCC has had 12 different pastors (senior pastors, associate pastors and youth pastors).  Church ministries were abundant and provided an increase in both numbers of attendees and in the spiritual growth of the congregation. The church has had a ministry in the community that was varied and vibrant.  Over the past 8 years the congregation has experienced a season of loss of both pastors and members. We are looking to God to bring renewal.

In addition to our Sunday worship service, current church ministries include adult Sunday teaching time, children’s Sunday School, various midweek small groups and prayer times.

Historically, CCC has had a heart for involvement in and ministry to our community (Community Dinners, children’s midweek clubs, youth group, Alpha, Christmas food hampers, Brown Bagging for Calgary Kids). As with other churches, things are just beginning again as the COVID pandemic slows, and we continue to evaluate our capacity for future community ministry.

The original church building has had many changes and improvements over the years. Most recently, the commercial grade kitchen was repaired after basement flooding. Previously, an elevator was installed to make the lower level fully accessible.  In addition to a number of community groups using our building (AA & others), we rent the building to two other churches who do not have their own facilities. These churches are: "The Grace of God Christian Church" (an AGC affiliated Filipino church) and "Iglesia Monte Calvario" (a Hispanic congregation associated with the PAOC). Our church has a desire to enter into deeper relationship and collaboration with The Grace of God Christian Church in possible joint ministries.
