A passion for God ... a heart for people.

The Selke Family

Serving with North American Indian Mission

Walter and Cindy Selke have been married and in full-time cross-cultural work in Regina since 1989. After serving in an inner-city church and primarily reaching youth, the Selkes felt God directing them to begin a new ministry. In 1994, a small core of people saw the birth of Healing Hearts Ministry.

With a focus on "bringing the healing touch of Jesus to wounded hearts", this church meets in a community centre, serves coffee throughout the worship service and highlights more of a support group format for people to share their issues and hurts and joys. Two other couples have joined the Selkes on the pastoral team over the years, and in November 2004, a First Nations couple who helped Walter and Cindy plant the church were commissioned to minister at Healing Hearts. The Selkes have three children: Mark (1990), Daniel (1992) and Caylea (1993), who have been instrumental in opening doors of ministry and are also growing into servants themselves.
